Yunho is going to train in Los Angeles for Michael Jackson tribute concert.

It’s been reported that Yunho of TVXQ will be part of the Korea leg of the posthumous concert This Is It dedicated to legendary icon Michael Jackson. Of course, for this concert, Yunho can’t stay in Korea / Japan for TVXQ promotions and will be heading to the United States!

Set to leave for Los Angeles in March, he will improve on his singing and dancing while working with the “This Is It” team. Yunho will work closely with Bashiri Johnson, Maurice Pledger and Judith Hill for his training.

A representative of the concert said,

“For the concert, every member who was set to perform the 2010 This Is It World Tour that was set to launch on July 7th in London will be performing here. There are plans for the Korean singer Yunho to be part of the concert and present a Michael Jackson performance.”

After Yunho’s American training, he will return to Korea and perform on March 27th and 28th at the Korean War Memorial in Yongsan, Seoul.

The representative also said,

“It is a well known fact that Yunho is a huge fan of Michael Jackson and even wrote a blog entry when Michael passed away saying that Michael Jackson was his sole inspiration. Yunho is already a big star that has captured Asia and is also a Michael Jackson fan so we are confident that he will be a great addition to the concert.”

It’s gratifying to see Yunho receiving the opportunity to participate in a tribute concert to one of his idols, and I’m sure many Los Angeles fans are excited for this young star’s upcoming visit to America. Tickets go on sale on March 2nd.

The boys of TVXQ / DBSK / Tohoshinki have added another record after recently Breaking out on the Oricon with their new single Break Out!

Back in September of 1997, shortly after the tragic death of Princess Diana, Sir Elton John released a single in memory of her titled Candle in the Wind. This single had an initial sales figure of 184,000 units and because of this he held the record for a foreign artist with the most initial single sales. He held this record for over 12 years, but all records are meant to be broken and the boys of TVXQ have taken the record for themselves. The initial sales for Break Out! was a whopping 254,000 units, breaking the old record by 70,000.

TVXQ’s ‘Best Selection 2010′ album art released!

For all of you TVXQ / DBSK / Tohoshinki fans waiting for some good news, the album art for their next Japanese album has been released. But before you go head over heels on this one, I’ll give you an early notice that this album will not have any new songs.

Set to be released on February 17, TVXQ’s ‘Best Selection 2010’ will be a compilation album of their best Japanese hits. According to YesAsia, this album will contain several of their Japanese hit singles, including ‘Purple Line,’ which was their first #1 hit single in Japan.

As for the album art, although the TVXQ boys do look just as amazing as ever in these pictures, due to the spacing of each individual member they look very distant with one another. But then again, maybe it’s all the TVXQ controversies getting to me. Well, until they come out with another new full album, this is the best we’ve got.

You can pre-order the album at YesAsia.

Yunho visits grandma in hospital

While the other four members of TVXQ / DBSK / Tohoshinki were off in Australia , TVXQ’s leader U-Know Yunho paid a visit to his grandmother at the JangsungHyo Love Hospital on the 6th.

Yunho made the visit after returning from his activities in Japan to greet his grandmother for the new year. Despite his busy schedule, Yunho prepared rice cakes and drinks for the residents of the hospital and had an enjoyable time with the seniors. His actions have garnered much praise as the hospital does not receive many visitors due to it being a long-term care facility. Truly, a class act all around.

Japanese TVXQ fans to raise a whopping five million yen for newspaper Ad

TVXQ/DBSK supporters in the motherland and overseas have been riveted by the SME lawsuit for the past few months, and it looks like a certain group of international fans is really stepping up its game.

Five Balloons, a group of Japanese TVXQ supporters, recently created the TVXQ Smile Project, in which members donated money to put an advertisement in a daily Korean newspaper. Its monetary goal for Christmas? A whopping five million yen, which is approximately 64,400,000 won, $54,700 USD, or the price of a pretty nice sports car. I never realized how astronomically high newspaper ad rates were… and why these fans would devote so much money to a boy group instead of a charity or something is beyond me, but that’s besides the point.

The ad is expected to include the words ‘TVXQ Smile Project,’ a message about TVXQ’s entity as a group only complete with five members, and a promise to forever love TVXQ and wait for them to sincerely smile.

As of yesterday, over four hundred participants collectively donated 1,764,000 yen (approx 22,700,000 won or $19,400 USD). Since this doesn’t meet the initial December 25 goal, the members plan to extend the period of donation collection and purchase the ad in mid-January.

2009 is widely known as the Year of the Girl Groups, but it might as well be called the Year of the Fans instead. From forming petitions to changing drama plots, from kicking an idol out of the country to a creating a global movement to bring the same person back, it’s become clear that fan support has definitely evolved and rocked the kpop world in many ways.

Oricon also put in a small snippet on how TVXQ made such a huge leap in a short amount of time and that there’s no telling how far the boys can go in the future.
